Goblin Squats
So I’ve been training one of my online clients for just under 2 years now.
Pretty much since the start of the Pandemic.
On FaceTime.
3x times a week.
And quite rightly he’s smashing it.
Dropping a ton of body fat.
And building a good amount of muscle on the way.
Until we realised only yesterday …
That we had been doing “Goblin Squats” all this time.
Instead of Goblet Squats.
😂
But as he rightly pointed out.
When you go heavy enough.
You end up looking like a bit of a Goblin when doing Goblet Squats anyway.
So it’s quite an accurate description.

Your muscles don’t know what exercises you’re doing.
They don’t know what exercise you have written on your program.
They don’t know you’re doing a Barbell Deadlift or a Dumbbell Deadlift.
They can’t tell whether you’re doing Goblet Squats.
Goblin Squats.
Or Split Squats.
They only know mechanical tension.
Which YOU have to ensure you’re putting on them.
