I'm a life coach now
Given that I’ve spent most of the week underground in the gym.
Not being able to enjoy the first proper sunshine of the year.
I felt duty-bound to go for an extra walk in the sun yesterday afternoon.
Didn’t need the steps
Was actually pretty knackered & could have done with a PM nap
But went anyway
Just to avoid the FOMO of sitting inside.
Thinking that everyone else is out & about having a great time.
Anyone else get that…?!
So off I went.
Down the King’s Road.
Walking INTO the sun (beautiful)
And ended up popping into Waterstones.
(Don’t ask me why … just felt like it)
That bookshop smell.
That first hits you when you walk in … wow.
It instantaneously makes you feel more relaxed.
Brings you down a notch.
As do the people in there.
And the general vibe in there.
A bit like a mini time machine.
Slow-paced
The fresh paper smell
Music
Forgot how good that is
>
Anyway.
Picked up this local book filled with old photos from the 1800s, 1900s.
And it’s funny.
Some of these places haven’t changed in almost 200 years.
The buildings
Street layouts
The popular areas
Types of shops
A lot of it is the same in 2022.
The streets seemed a lot wider (no cars)
Everything is grey (no colour photos)
Places looked a bit dirtier
But overall, v similar.
And gives you a real sense of insignificance.
We really don’t matter 😂
Not in the grand scheme of things.

Didn’t intend this email to be a life lesson BTW.
But there we are.
Happy Sunday ✌️
