Don't have any clients called Josh atm ... so I'm safe with this one 😂
Sometimes I look at people training at PureGym.
And think
“Man … you should really read my emails …”
Or women for that matter.
Because sometimes small tweaks.
Or different ways of thinking about training.
Can make all the difference.
Without getting too philosophical.
I’ve had experiences where hearing just 1 phrase.
Has changed everything.
When it comes to my training.
And how I approach sessions/exercises.
>
One of them off the top of my head
“Instead of counting each rep … make each rep count”
One of the OGs.
1000% true.
Your muscles don’t just reward you when you hit the magical 10 reps.
They don’t work that way.
You have to squeeze them under load in order for them to develop.
Another related one:
“Muscles are mechanical, not emotional. You can’t ‘confuse’ them into growth”
You shouldn’t be aiming to ‘shock’ your muscles into growth in training sessions.
It doesn’t work that way.
Therefore you don’t need to program hop …
Changing workouts every week either.
I sometimes run the same movements for 3-6 months on end before rotating them.
And I’ve made some of my best progress that way.
Because mastering movements is one of the keys to progression.
How could ever lift big weights if you first haven’t learnt a movement inside out?

Last one
“World record-holding Olympic weightlifters still warm up with an empty bar … but Josh from finance goes straight from a meeting into an 80kg bench press”
Warm-ups are important.
Even if you only have 20 minutes to train in your lunch break.
And are “super busy”.
Getting injured is the opposite of making progress.
So look to avoid at all costs.
Friday 🥳🥳
