Here's a trick I'm doing with my new guys
Something I’ve found myself reiterating to one of my new 1 on 1 clients lately.
Seeing as he’s only a couple of weeks into this program with me.
Is adopting an overly precise mindset.
On and off the gym floor.
Especially at the start.
Because the details matter.
What this might look like:
Diet / tracking wise
-> Weighing items to the gram
-> Double checking food entries on Myfitnesspal. Making sure that they ‘make sense’
-> Staying as close to protein & calorie targets as possible. 5g & 50kcal respectively
-> Tracking everything consumed. Not leaving anything off
Training
-> Paying attention to how each set feels. What to look out for
-> Obsessing over technique, at the expense of load. This can be reversed at a certain level of skill
-> Thinking quality over quantity. Far better doing 1x 9/10 set, rather than 3x 4/10 sets
-> Being aware of which body parts are working, and which are not. Joints or muscles. Edge of muscle or middle of the muscle. Etc

These things ALL matter.
And there’s no better way to go all-in on them, than right at the start of your journey.
