I'll be honest ... it hasn't been my best week 🤦♂️
I don’t usually get too sore from workouts anymore.
The times I do …
Are either A)
When I change my training program & rotate exercises in / out
A different stimulus from the norm is usually a recipe for a bit of DOMS.
You swap your cable row for a dumbbell row - etc.
B)
When my sleep has suffered.
It’s the biggest recovery tool we have available.
So naturally.
When it heads south.
You don’t head to bed on time.
Or you just don’t get the quality you usually get (usually alcohol related)
You don’t recover as well.
And then C)
When my food hasn’t been 100%.
And mainly …
When I’ve gone UNDER on my protein level.
For whatever reason.
Missed meals.
Meals out etc.
>
My legs are still sore from Wednesday 😂
And it’s been a combination of B & C.
It must be.
Because I haven’t done any program tweaking whatsoever.
And yet I’ve still got DOMS.
Take home:
If you’re always getting sore from your workouts.
And you’re not really changing your program too much.
Then you’re under recovering.
For the amount of volume (work), you’re doing with your training.
Have a great weekend 👋
Harry
