Let's go for a walk in Hyde Park
The only time I’ve ever used a paid PT session.
To do cardio with a client.
Was back in 2016 when I trained Sadek twice a day.
He came over from Saudi to London for a month.
And wanted to lose as much body fat as physically possible.
(He had a lot to lose…)
6 days a week.
Sunday was the rest day.
12 sessions a week.
50 over the month.
One in the AM and one PM.
The AM session was weights in the gym.
He’d never trained before, and being over 150kg, we didn’t have a huge number of exercises to pick from.
But we managed with a select few.
Leg extensions
Pulldowns
Incline DB presses
Bicep curls
Lateral raises
Etc
Pretty basic stuff.

Now for the interesting part …
The PM session was a 60-minute power walk around Hyde Park.
Take a guess, which of the 2 sessions he found most difficult?
So we could gauge how his fitness was improving on the walks.
(Key in my opinion)
I made sure we were holding a conversation for the walk.
Obviously delving through a range of topics which I won’t go into detail in this email. 😅
But to start, it was a struggle.
Barely being able to hold one.
Breathless, light-headed - generally pretty tough.
But as the days went on.
And we ticked the walks off.
The weight came down & the fitness went up.
It got easier & easier.
Until we got to the end of the 4 weeks, and he was happily chatting away whilst walking at a fast pace through the park.
Pretty cool and a simple way to gauge progress.

Not your typical Transformation story, but a good one.
And I guess the take-home is to pick progress variables that work for you.
They might be unorthodox, but if they work.
They work.
Have a good one 🤙
