🥶
Hear me out on this one.
It’s -2º outside at the time of typing this …
Tomorrow set to be -4º 😳
Cold.
Genuinely a bit scared to go outside.
But we’ll manage, won’t we?
Mad to think the same mornings in July were occasionally hitting 25º+.
In that crazy hot week.
Maybe even more.
And here’s my point

Body composition is a seasonal game
Yes - you want to be in DECENT shape year round.
And not have your body fat levels fluctuate TOO much.
But by and large.
When it’s COLD like it is now.
Ideally …
You want to be in your higher body fat state.
-> You’re warmer. Body fat is a good insulator
-> Wearing more layers, so no need to be super lean all the time
-> Less sunny holidays in hot destinations
It just makes sense to be fatter here
(Not very liberal of me sorry)
Personally - I’m probably 5-6kg heavier in the winter months.

And on the flip side.
When it’s BOILING outside.
You want to be in your leaner state.
-> Less insulation on your body. You’ll stay cooler.
-> You’ll wear far fewer layers than in winter. Your physique is on show much more.
-> A lot of people I know spend the whole of July & August away in the Med 😂
So it makes sense to be LEAN here.

Obviously, there are exceptions.
You need to get to your lean state FIRST before you can tackle the whole seasonal thing.
And if that means you start your fat loss journey in November.
Then all the more power to you.
But once you’ve got over that first hurdle.
Keep it seasonal 😎
