The C word 🙈
As some of you might have noticed.
I didn’t do an email yesterday.
My laptop was in a bag that was buried behind a huge dust sheet.
And with workman cracking on in that area.
Drilling, sawing etc.
I just left them to it & promised that I’d do a lengthy one today.
So double dose of content now.
For a Saturday afternoon read.
>
My client yesterday suggested I do an email on this.
So here are a few thoughts on a supplement I pretty much recommend everyone take.
Creatine.
Overheard a couple of guys in the changing room talking about it.
“Last time I took it made me all watery & bloated … so not taking it again when I’m cutting”
“But the strength gains are mad though bro .. you can lift so much more when you’re on it”
A lot of us have probably heard a similar convo.
Or even been IN the convo.
If someone didn’t hear what they were talking about.
And only caught the end of the convo.
They’d have thought they were talking about steroids 😂

It doesn’t make you watery & bloated.
It just doesn’t.
If you do experience that.
While you’re ‘taking it’.
Then it’s probably your diet/lifestyle that’s causing that.
Not the 3-5g of creatine.
It allows your MUSCLES to hold more water - which doesn’t give you the bloated/watery look.
That comes from more water in between the muscle & skin.
The guy in the changing room probably paired his creatine intake with poor food choices.
And potentially not enough water intake (needed).
Most guys in particular see creatine as a ‘bulking / muscle gain’ supplement.
And end up eating as such.
Making them bloated/watery.
>
It helps with performance - but it won’t add significant amounts to your lifts.
It’s not magic.
It’s one of THE most researched supplements.
Behind caffeine.
And the studies do show that it DOES increase performance.
But by small amounts.
They’ll barely be noticeable.
Especially over the short term.
Unless you’re tracking your workouts really tightly.
And/or are consistent with your training over several years.
You won’t start feeling invincible after taking 3g in the morning.
Just as you wouldn’t feel that after eating a huge steak with the same amount of creatine in it.
(It’s found in red meat, just in low ish quantities)
>
I’d even suggest females take it.
Because they want more muscle too.
Just like guys in the gym do.
Better gym performance.
And more hydrated muscles.
Giving the illusion of a leaner physique.
So don’t shy away from it.
>
You also don’t need to cycle off it.
Again, it’s not gear.
You can take it year round no problems.
Like your other supplements.
Vit D, omega 3s, zinc etc.

Have a good weekend ✌️
