Why I'm doing 20 minute training sessions
I’m doing a deload week from training at the moment.
Something that I do every 8-12 weeks or so.
And have done for years.
I’ve actually done an email on it before.
But when I’ve mentioned it to people this week.
They’ve come back with questions.
So here are the answers.
>
What is it?
It’s pretty much a recovery week.
You train, but with reduced volume & intensity.
The idea is that you keep things ‘ticking over’.
But allowing your muscles, joints, connective tissues & brain to fully recover.
Ready to start the following week 100%.
Because fatigue accumulates.
As we know.
You start feeling like you ‘need’ a holiday/time off after a while.
Etc.
A good way to do it is to just cut the number of sets you do in half.
So 1 or 2 sets on your exercises.
That’s it.
Maybe reducing an exercise or two as well.
Not really pushing to failure.
But still using similar same weights you usually use.
Not having the toughest training week ever.
But you’re also not taking the week off completely.
Not restarting the following week at square one.
But feeling like you’re ready to smash your training again.
And you can draw a lot of lessons from this.
Playing the long term game.
Not burning out.
And so on.
>
Disclaimer: Unless you’re very on top of your training.
And NEVER miss any sessions over months.
You probably don’t need to schedule deloads.
As you do that already when you skip sessions/weeks etc.
The truth 😂✌️
Have a good one.
