Have wanted to get this off my chest for years
Have never quite understood why some muscle groups get more love than others.
Not as in people preferring to train arms rather than legs.
I totally get that.
People want to train the muscles they WANT to develop.
Of course.
For the beach, club, golf course.
Whatever.
But mainly from the injury/physio/rehab community.
I’ll give a couple of common examples:
“You’ve got tight hamstrings”
You hear this a lot.
All the time in fact.
But you never hear “you’ve got tight Triceps”.
I actually don’t think I’ve EVER heard that one before …?
But I’m sure there are people out there with tight Triceps.
There has to be.
>
“Do these exercises to bulletproof your shoulders”
Again.
See this ALL time in online articles/videos.
It’s one of the most clickbaity youtube titles.
“Bulletproof your calves with these 3 exercises”
Never 😂
See what I mean?
Poor shoulder mobility is probably just as common as poor hip mobility.
But you rarely see tricep stretches prescribed …
Hamstring stretches though …
>
Knee pain is just as common as shoulder pain.
Isn’t it?
Muscles in the lower leg (shin) have just as much influence on that as the shoulder muscles do for the shoulder joint.
But for some reason, calves have no need to become bulletproof …
They’re fine just as they are.
Unlike the delts.
Which seem to need endless bulletproofing from attack.
Anyway - just an observation.
Don’t believe everything you see or read online.
Especially my emails 😅
Have a good one.
Harry
