I might have to kick her out of bed if this carries on .. 😱
So recently my sleep has been completely cr*p.
Not sure why.
I fall asleep pretty easily.
But I’m tossing & turning like crazyyy in the night.
No idea why.
Super annoying tbh.

Sleep is a tricky one.
Because so much of it is OUT of our control.
i.e, you don’t purposely wake up in the middle of the night
So for a large portion of sleep quality/quantity..
You can’t do much.
Bummer eh?
But there are some things you CAN do.
Variables you do control.
So here’s what I do / I’m going to do.
To try and make my sleep better:
-> Massively reduce my caffeine intake
I’m pretty conscious about this anyway.
Not having coffees after midday.
And limiting my intake to usually 2.
But right now .. I’m going down to 1x coffee a day in the morning.
That’s it.
It’ll be painful to start ..
but you gotta do what you gotta do.
-> Tire myself out in the day
You sleep better after a day of high physical exertion.
Simple.
So I’m going to train extra hard.
And do extra steps.
(not quite cardio .. I’m not there yet 😂)
So hopefully.
When 9pm swings by.
I’ll be even more zonked than usual.
-> Not use my phone in bed
I’m in bad habits with this atm.
Like a lot of us.
Replying to texts
Emails I’ve missed
Watching funny reels people have sent me
Doing a few more Duolingo lessons
I’m going to stop all that.
And read my book in bed instead.
(boring I know)
-> Physically get into bed earlier
Ohhh this is a good one.
As early as I can.
I’m going to bed.
So I’ll have to park the Netflix series I’m watching at the moment.
Until the weekend at least
(this one I’m watching atm in Spanish is sooo good 😂)
My sleep/health is more important.
-> Don’t eat too much for my last meal
So after you eat a lot (mainly carbs) your body releases serotonin.
Which makes you feel sleepy afterwards.
But if the meal is too big.
Then your digestion is all messed up overnight.
So there is a sweet spot.
I’m going to have a medium-sized dinner.
And not have my usual dessert ‘treat’ afterwards 😩

With any luck - these things should all help.
✌️✌️
