Let me know if this is a good time for a 6.5k ...?
Right.
So bit of a storytime email this morning.
I’ve got a bit more time than usual being a Saturday.
>
So the tube opened back up yesterday at 8 am.
So naturally …
Up until that point, roads were crazy busy.
Basically gridlocked.
You can tell, can’t you …
When you walk out the house.
And roads that are normally pretty quiet, not too much traffic.
Are just bumper-to-bumper traffic.
Lights everywhere.
>
The bus I normally get into the gym wouldn’t stop.
Too full up.
3 went past.
1 of the 3 stopped - zero room to get on.
And the other 2 didn’t even bother stopping.
The driver just waved & drove past.
Didn’t help that there were several Spanish tourist students with huge suitcases at the stop waiting with me π
(Tbh I think they put off the driver from stopping … if it had been just me I reckon they would have let me on)

ANYWAY.
So I’ve got a client booked in at 8 am at Picadilly Circus.
It’s currently 7.31 am and I’m at Norland Square.
Having just been pied off by the 94.
So I’ve only got 1 choice.
Can’t get an uber
Can’t get the tube
Can’t walk
So I have to start running.
I know it’s an hour PLUS walk.
So not really sure if I could make it in time if I ran - but I really didn’t have a choice.
It was either cancel my session.
Or run for it.
And for any of you that have trained with me before.
Unless I’m bed bound - I don’t cancel sessionsπ
It never happens.
And I wasn’t going to start yesterday.
…
Managed to get there at 8.01 am.
Hot sweaty knackered mess.
Took me exactly 30 mins.
6.4 kilometres
4 or so miles
8,500 steps
Can someone who knows about running let me know if that’s a good time or not…?
>
My client, later on, asked sarcastically if I “wanted a medal” for it.
And ngl yes I actually felt like I deserved one π
But if it hadn’t been for the adrenaline rush of missing the session.
I don’t think I would have made it.
Having that concrete deadline gave me no other choice.
And there’s that.
Have a great weekend π
Harry
