What's the best time of year to train?
Hear me out on this one.
Because it probably goes against the grain.
And not the normal advice.
But of all the times in the year to enjoy weight training.
The two stand-out times are these.
1 - when you’re on summer holidays.
Something about training when you’re not at work.
Tanned
Relaxed
Well rested
Training at a different gym than usual
Usually a better one.
You do honestly get some of your best workouts then.
Pumps are great
You’re already in a good mood … and training just puts you in an even better one
Just brilliant.
And the second one …
In and around Christmas / New Year.
And seeing as we’re in November, not mid-August.
We’ll have to settle for this one.
Nothing feels better than beating the January rush.
Gym is quiet
You’re more relaxed than normal
More rested than normal
More fuelled up with calories than normal
All the ingredients for some 10/10 training sessions.
It feels great.
But most people miss out on this.
Of course.
And avoid the gym completely until the 2nd week of Jan.
“Too much on”
“Don’t feel like going”
“I’ll just start next week”
Because technically.
Christmas & New Year is holiday time.
So why on earth would you want to still carry on training …?
😅😇
(See reasons above)
>
So even if you plan on going wildly off-piste with your diet & alcohol consumption
(I will be too btw)
You can still log some top training sessions in that time.
And hit January running.
Instead of starting miles behind the starting line.
Have a good Tuesday 💥
Harry
