Settling this debate once & for all .. 😏
Ever find that you’re super sore after some of your workouts?
But sometimes not in others?
Hear this.
I trained at a different gym yesterday.
The north London bodybuilding one.
For my weekly leg session.
(well, actually I do 1.5 leg sessions a week)
But not the point.
Completely new machines to what I’m used to
(the workout was mostly machines, rather than Dumbbells / Barbells)
My body is used to the PureGym machines
Not the machines this different gym had
..and right now
My quads are sore AF.
Honestly ..
They feel tender.
To the touch.
>>
But get this.
-> The workout wasn’t particularly harder than usual 🤭
-> I didn’t actually do different exercises to what I usually do
-> The overall total volume would be similar to my usual
The difference being the machines I used
Yesterday’s workout wasn’t ’better’ than my usual.
Even though I’m much more sore today.
And I know I’ve said this recently before.
But soreness isn’t an indicator of a better workout.
-> If you’re recovering well (diet & sleep)
and
-> Doing similar exercises week in week out
You probably won’t get that sore from your training.
Even though you’ll be smashing it.
Have a great rest of the weekend 🤩
Harry
