You'll hate me for saying this .. 👀
So I’m just going to take the plunge and say this.
good morning btw 😅
-> Unless you’re in decent-ish shape ..
(muscle mass & low body fat)
AND
-> Train regularly in the gym ..
(not just exercise at home .. I’m being careful with my wording here)
OR
-> If you’re a professional / highly highly experienced ..
Then you shouldn’t ski / snowboard
👋👋
Especially if you’re 40+.
(unless you want to get seriously injured .. in which case you can do whatever 🤪)
>>
I know I’ll get a lot of stick for saying that.
Because people love skiing.
But I’ll stand by it.
Look at it like this.
It’s a high impact
High risk
… sport.
Done in an extremely unpredictable.
Unforgiving environment.
And usually done whilst intoxicated on alcohol
(this is the craziest part about the skiing culture ..
having several drinks then ‘doing’ the sport)
It’s a cocktail for complete disaster.
I hear about it every year.
And it’s not worth it.
->> You wouldn’t randomly take up competitive MMA when you hit your 50th birthday ..
Have 3 glasses of wine before your first fight ..
After zero training/preparation..
Then jump into the ring with an experienced 25-year-old.
Who is in much better shape than you.
You’d be dead .. almost literally.
>>
When you actually think about it like that.
It makes sense.
And you can’t justify it.
Because you only get 1x of every joint in your body.
You don’t have backup elbows, knees, shoulders, spines, ankles ..
You have one of each of them.
And when you’re bombing down the slopes as a beginner at 25 mph ..
Weighing 95kg.
With your body not used to high forces running through it.
You can have zero complaints when something bad happens.
Sorry.
Happy Friday 😂✌️
Harry
